All Boasting is Halted

When I first understood the Gospel and became a Christian, I was so thankful to God. I was thankful that I Believed Jesus died for my sins, was buried and rose again, that I Confessed him as Lord, that I Repented from my sinful ways and was Baptized for the remission of sins. Although these were good actions to take in obeying the Gospel and God pre-determined that these people would be saved, these actions are worthy of zero merit. You see for those that are being saved, they are so by the grace of God and the righteousness of Christ so that all boasting is halted! It is the very reason why every Sunday, Christians proclaim the death of Christ until he returns.

Luke 17:7-10

7 “Now which of you, having a slave plowing or tending sheep, will say to him after he comes in from the field, ‘Come immediately and recline at the table to eat’? 8 On the contrary, will he not say to him, ‘Prepare something for me to eat, and properly [h]clothe yourself and serve me while I eat and drink; and [i]afterward you [j]may eat and drink’? 9 He does not thank the slave because he did the things which were commanded, does he? 10 So you too, when you do all the things which were commanded you, say, ‘We are [k]unworthy slaves; we have done only that which we ought to have done.’”
